What surfaces can Viponds Pink Primer be applied to?

Viponds' Pink Primer paint is specifically designed for all types of raw timber, both interior and exterior. It also helps prevent tannin stains from bleeding through your final paint layers. Its primary function as a primer is to help achieve excellent adhesion for subsequent topcoats. While it could help seal the wood, it's not intended as a filler. It should also not be applied to previously painted surfaces.

How does Viponds Pink Primer regulate moisture to minimise cracking in timber?

Linseed oil, a key ingredient in Viponds Pink Primer, is valued for its ability to polymerise into a solid form, creating a durable, protective layer over wood surfaces. This process significantly enhances the wood's moisture resistance by sealing the pores, thus reducing the penetration and evaporation of water. By maintaining a more consistent moisture level within the wood, this pink primer paint prevents the typical expansion and contraction that can lead to cracking and splitting.

How long does Viponds Pink Primer typically take to dry?

Under typical conditions, which include temperatures above 15°C and low humidity, this pink primer paint will be touch-dry within 8 hours. For best results, allow 24 hours before applying a second coat. If you plan to use an acrylic topcoat over the primer, it is recommended to wait at least 48 hours to ensure proper adhesion and finish quality.
